Heaven Help Us!!!

My oldest came up to me the other day and informed me that he wanted to "grow up to be a rock-star!!"

I said "great! Do you want to learn how to play the guitar?"

He said "no, I want to play the drums!!!!"

dun, dun, duunnnnnnn!!!

Does anyone have any experience with drums and some information on when to get him started and where to look for an instructor? I'd like to get him started as soon as possible, this is one of the few things he's taken an interest in on his own and I'd love to encourage it. I'm just so lost when it comes to musical instruments and lessons. oh yeah, and pray for me and my poor head that it will survive!!

MIA

My poor blog has been slightly neglected lately and I apologize deeply to all my avid readers, but I do have a pretty good excuse for it (no, I'm not prego). I was reading the Twilight series.

I don't know how I feel about these books. On the one hand Bella-the main character-really annoyed me. I thought she was a whiny brat and not very smart. On the other hand I loved all the other characters, especially Jacob!!! I couldn't put the books down and read the first two books in a three day period!! However this could just be a character flaw, it seems once I start a book I can't put it down no matter what. This is the reason I haven't read a book in over a year, my poor family just gets too neglected.

I was discussing my problems with the books to my mom and she agreed with me but then added that the books are written for teenagers and Bella is a teenager and "remember when you were a teenager?". And ya know what? I do remember that. And ya know what I remember about that time? I hated teenage girls even when I was a teenage girl!!!

So there you have it, my official review of the books. The next one in the series comes out this Saturday and even though my brain is telling me to just leave it alone, I can't. It's my drug of choice right now and I'm going to go pick it up the day it comes out!!!! I just have to see what becomes of Jacob and the Cullens, but for all I care Bella can go cry in a corner and wait for the Volturi to come and get her!!!

A fun little something

Here is a fun little game... leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time, anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you (if you don't have a blog leave a memory anyways). On your mark... get set... blog those memories!

Mac's Friend Party

We had Mac's friend party last night at our apt. complex pool. It was a blast even though only one of his little friends was able to make it. Here are some pictures.

Here's Cooper, Cormac and Isaac after swimming

Here's the little vampires digging into the rest of the cake, well the frosting anyways. (click on the picture to see the mess, you wont regret it)

Mac opening his presents

Playing in the bubbles Cooper gave him

Now I have a question for all of you. Do you ever get lucky enough to snap a picture at just the right moment? Because I did and here it is!!!

It may look like they are hugging or doing some other nice gesture, but they are not. They are running full speed into each other and this is the exact moment of impact. If I had had the brains to keep snapping pictures the next one would have been of them flat on their backs!!

Mac's family party!!

Here are some pictures of what we did for Mac's birthday.

First we went to the local mall to do a build-a-bear and play at the splash pad

Mac the "moonkey" playing at the splash pad

He sang happy birthday right along with us.

He really enjoyed those cupcakes!!!

He got some great gifts from his grandparents and aunts and uncles.

This is what Jason and I gave him. We didn't get a lot of pictures but we got a lot of video of the day. Just as good right?

My Big Mac is 2!!!!!!

I can hardly believe that two years have gone by!! My sweet baby is growing-up and it is a very bitter-sweet feeling. I still clearly remember the first time I held him. He was such a talkative little stink even then, squawking and blowing raspberries at me. He also had a mo-hawk, he was cool even then. He has been such a wonderful addition to our family and brings all of us happiness and joy every single day!!! Happy Birthday Mac!!!!! (and now for all the pictures, I really wish I could upload more)

By the way, he's yelling at me in this picture not to take the picture. I never listen!!!

One thing I know for sure

There aren't a lot of things that I know for sure, but one thing I do know is that there is no better way to wake-up in the morning then by having your baby crawl into bed with you and say "mowing sha-shy" (morning sunshine). I love being a mommy!!

another conversation with my oldest

We're riding along in the car discussing my husbands dental practice and my husband says "my office kicks butt"!! My oldest then corrects him by saying "no daddy, your office fixes teeth."

Meditations of a Mother

Are you ever just going through life happy and content without a care in the world, then with one small button pushed on a remote control it dawns on you, you have two boys, and at some point these two boys hormones are going to kick-in and your precious little loves are going to become Jackasses, and they're going to think this type of stuff is fun and a good idea.

Am I the only one losing sleep over this? Not that I didn't laugh until I peed my pants watching the movie all ten times I've seen it. But still, I would never participate in these activities!! What is it with men, honestly?

pediophobia

I have a fear of toys (pediophobia). These three toys to be exact.

I always think this one is some renegade rat with rabies. It's actually a dinosaur, if you are wondering.

I always gasp, jump, and pretty much pee my pants whenever I see these three toys. Especially when they are at the bottom of a toy box that I am rummaging through. Ugh (with a shutter)!! I just wonder who on earth thought, "I know, a toy cockroach!!! kids will love it!!" I know I know, I should just throw them away. But I feel so guilty.

whew!!

I have successfully scared the voyeur away!! Well, I guess we still haven't rid ourselves of Cody, but that's okay he's rather harmless. I can't say that I blame either of them, Jason is quite the catch, (when he's not picking his nose or burping in my ear). I would also like to add that I love when random readers visit my blog and I hope the last post doesn't scare them away or make them feel unwelcome. It makes me feel so cool and popular when random people visit my blog, which lets be honest, that feeling doesn't happen often for me. But I only feel cool and popular when people come to read what I have written, not ogle my husband!!

But this leads me to another discovery I have made with the feedjit feature which is, how random people find my blog. The most popular search that leads people to my blog is Hot Tranny Mess!!! (because of this post) I would love to see these peoples faces when they are led to my blog, I don't think it was quite what they were looking for and heaven knows I don't want to know what they're looking for. People are also led to my blog by searching olive garden and sides.(because of this post) Again, probably not what they wanted but at least this post gives them an insight to the experience they may have at the Olive Garden.

But seriously, come!! visit!! comment!!! I need the attention and affirmations!!!

Ever feel like you're being watched?

So I'm officially creeped out. I have that feedjit feature on my blog that shows where people come from and where they leave to, and someone is obsessed with my husband. They come to my blog and they click on the pictures I have of him, and they're doing it more than once a day. It's almost like they know exactly where the posts about him are and go straight there, sometimes hitting multiple posts one after the other. Yes, I know you are doing it and it's freaking me out!!!! The worst part of it is that they live near us, they're in a neighboring town. Jason was all excited to have some woman obsessed with him and then I pointed out it could be a man!!! So hopefully whoever it is will now stop or at least come forward and explain themselves!!

Here, maybe this will help you get it out of your system!!!
By the way, this picture is a much more accurate portrayal of Jason.

He's sensitive and I'd like him to stay that way (warning movie spoiler)

When I got home from school today my boys were watching the movie Bridge to Terebithia with the nanny Carla (I really need to post about Carla and all the things I appreciate about her. maybe next time). I have not seen the movie but I read the book back when I was in the fourth grade and it is a tear jerker.

So it's the end of the movie, Carla leaves and about 2 minutes later Isaac comes to me bawling, I mean bawling. I asked him what was wrong and he said "it was a really sad movie." I got him to calm down a little and asked him why it was so sad (here comes the spoiler), he proceded to tell me about the girl falling in the river and dieing and then the big brother let his little sister cross the bridge and it just "makes me cry so hard mom". I was shocked that he understood that much of the movie and was able to connect with the characters and their emotions so well. He's only 4!!!!

I was also shocked because I think the girl died a good half hour before I got home. So I called the nanny and asked if he had been crying during the movie and she said no but that she could tell he was holding back. She then went on to tell me that they had watched Charlotte's Web a few days before and that she could tell he wanted to cry at the end of that movie too but held back.

I love that he is so sensitive but holds back in front of Carla. I also kind of think he would have held it in if his father had been home too, but he knows he can let it all out when it's just his momma.

Baby Spanish (strong language)

Isaac has started referring to the way Cormac speaks as "baby spanish, because we only understand some of it." I thought that was a great way of describing it, but it also got me thinking about all the baby spanish I know and will forever speak. Let me explain a little more.

The word pepperoni is forever stricken from my vocabulary and replaced with peppaponi, same goes for noodles which is now noonels, Statue of Liberty is Statue of Lilliby and so on and so forth. All of those came from my first baby Isaac. My second child of course has a talent of just being naughty without really trying and so simple words such as garbage have now been replaced with dumb bitch. Ant holes? you guessed it, ass hole. This is especially entertaining when he finds a really big ant hole and the conversation is something like this "mommy!!! ass hole!! Oh, big ass hole!!!! Cool!!!" Belly button has been replaced with butt, again great conversations especially in public. "mommy where's your butt?" or even better "You tickled my butt!!"

Obviously we wont be able to use these words all the time because eventually he'll be required to behave, but between Jason and I we will always use our baby spanish!!
