Holy Heart Failure Batman!!!!

It was a peaceful night, everyone in the house sound asleep when suddenly we hear what sounds like a very large and heavy item being slid across concrete, then it stops. Then we hear bom, bom, bom, again silence. Then a strange voice yells "oh yeah baby!!!" followed by an ear-piercing scream from one of my children. Jason and I are completely out of bed at this point and running towards the screams. Then the voice speaks again, "This is the moment of the night" followed by another scream. It's then that we realize we know this voice, and those sounds, it's the monster truck video turned up full blast on surround sound.

Our two year old woke up in the middle of the night, made his way downstairs in pitch-blackness, found the monster jam video, got it in the DVD player, turned on the receiver and then turned the volume to the loudest it goes!!!! Again, in complete darkness!!!!!

To me the best part of the whole story is that it was only when the announcer said something that he screamed, and I'm not kidding about the ear-piercing part either. He was screaming like his life depended on it. He still tells me at least twice a day that monster truck movies are scary. And just so you don't think Cormac just stood there and screamed waiting for his death, he did meet us about halfway between our room and the TV in a dead run. I was very impressed with the way Jason was able to scoop him up without breaking stride on his way to turn the sound off. There's nothing sexier than a man protecting his offspring, even if it's just from a monster truck movie!!

There is nothing better than waking up because your children are freeking themselves out. I have mental pictures of the whole event unfolding and I just have to laugh out loud! Love it!

Wow! Cormac definitely beat Carly. She was up last night from 1am to 3am b/c she wanted to read her princess book. Our wake up call was the hall light turning on and the pitter patter of little feet. I can only imagine how terrifying it would be to wake up to ear piercing screams!

Angela--Cormac is so like his father! Jason used to sleep walk and sleep talk on a nightly basis. We had to make sure the doors were not just locked but dead-bolted as he would try to escape. Being the grandma, I can laugh, but I'm sure it wasn't funny when it happened!

Wow! That's impressive from Cormac! Skye definitely couldn't have managed it and wouldn't have been independent enough to go out and try in the dark. Good for him! Meanwhile, I hope you guys recover from the heart failure.
