Phoenix

So these last couple of months living in Phoenix have brought some strange experiences that I feel like sharing with whoever will listen. Let's start with the wildlife!! I have found 2 count them 2 scorpions in my garage!!! And when you try and scare them or shu them away, they don't run they come after you!!! So I now have the the death of 2 scorpions on my hands, I don't feel bad. And the lizards are everywhere!!! mostly small ones that are kind of cute and fun to chase, but the other morning there was a huge 18 inch lizard crawling up the side of my house right next to the front door! I don't even know what kind of lizard it was or if it is dangerous and more importantly where it was going and where it lives and if it has plans to come back! As of yet I have not had a lizard in my house but I feel it is only a matter of time. Then the strangest one, there was a coyote running down my street the other day. A coyote!!! and by the way it was dead silent as it ran so I'm pretty sure it could sneak up and bite me on the ass while I'm putting my children in the car!!! It's a new fear of mine.
We'll move on to the water. It tastes disgusting from the tap so obviously we have to buy it which is not that big of a deal but annoying all the same. And I can't get cold water out of the tap, it comes out hot!! Sometimes in the morning I can get cool water, but cold water is a thing of the past. I can't wash my clothes in cold water, I have to be extra careful giving my babies a bath because even when the spout is pointing to cold it can still be hot!!! I attribute this to the fact that it is 110 degrees outside and therefore the water sitting in the pipes would be roughly the same temp!!! My father in law can't even keep water in his hot tub because the water gets too hot!! It's craziness. But remember, I'll be laughing when all of you are bundled up and freezing your bumbs off while I'm sitting next to the pool in perfect weather!!!
Well there you have it, my rant for the month, maybe the year because really I love it here!!

Isaac's first day of school!!!

My baby is in school!!! I can hardly believe it, time has gone way too fast. We have him in a school just down the street from Jason's office called Creative Castles. It's really cute and we are very happy with it. His first day was supposed to be on monday the 13th but wouldn't ya know it he had a fever and couldn't go. So he made it today and was very excited but then got nervous when I told him that I was dropping him off. He asked if I would stay with him and of course I agreed but we got into the classroom and he found his desk and then I was as good as chopped liver. So I left without him noticing and he had a great day. Although I only know this because his teacher told me. When I ask him how his day went he says "I don't know". Typical guy right!! So here are some pics of his first day with his class and his teacher Miss. Laura. Notice that he is right at home with nothing but girls in his class. I think the kid is destined to be surrounded by women his whole life. I'm sure he wont mind!!!

Our Trip to Utah

We had lots of fun in Utah, but are glad to be home. We tried to see everyone but just couldn't quite do it. Luckily we'll be back in three weeks so we can try again. Jason and I were also able to get away from the kids for a couple days and go to Wendover. Not the most glamorous place, but it was kid free so we loved it. Here are some pics of our other activities. Isaac had lots of fun and misses his Mema and aunt Michie the most. He's so lucky that he has such cool uncles and grandpa's that he gets to see lots of fun things. His uncle Neille is a Police officer, his uncle Josh is a fireman/paramedic, his uncle Eli and Pepa are wildfire fighters, and his uncle Tyler drives a track hoe!! He was in little boy heaven!!
Isaac at Pepa's and Uncle Eli's work, in the heavy brush rig
At the Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur museum. We were able to leave Cormac with Mema and just take the Iser man

Cormac's first birthday party!!! He did a much better job of digging into his cake than his big brother did!! We are so proud

Dental Office Grand Opening

On Saturday we had the grand opening for Jason's office. It was complete with food, tours, bounce houses and prizes. As you can see they put the docs to work, 8 years of school just to work as a carnie!!! I was really surprised they had such a great turn out, but hopefully that means Jason will be really busy!!!
This is the adult waiting room. It is set up like a jet and the seats even recline. That glare is coming off of a really nice fish tank.
This is one of the operatories. Each one is themed as a different destination, (that's why you sit in the jet waiting room. get it?). The patients can watch a movie, see their x-rays, or watch patient education videos from that small screen in front of the chair
This is the ortho dept. It has a movie theater theme. That is a large movie screen so the teens can watch a movie while getting their braces adjusted
This is the childrens waiting room. It was hard to get the whole thing in there but it is a castle with a jail, a slide and dress up clothes to play with. They also have a couple x-box 360's for the kiddies to play video games.

This is the pediatric dept. They're not quite finished with the wall mural (they're going to add castles and dragons etc.) but you can see it's still very cute. They also have private operatories for when they have to do sedation dentistry.

finally getting settled

We have had a crazy month!! Jason graduated dental school (hooray!!!), and we moved to sunny AZ, were we have a house (again, hooray!!!) and a brand new car!!!! We have already made some new friends, and Isaac was even invited to a birthday party. We spent the first two weeks here without our furniture or most of our belongings, it was definately an adventure and I was amazed at how messy an empty house could get, (Mema spoiled the boys rotten while she was here so they had plenty of new toys to throw around).
So far we have spent our time exploring our new environment and playing in our blow-up pool in our backyard. We are really excited to go home to Utah next week and see our family. We haven't been home in two years so we decided to make it a long trip and will be there for three weeks.
More exciting news, Cormac (the baby formerly known as Austin) has started walking. We are very proud of him and can't believe how fast he is growing. Before we know it he'll be talking, and then he'll really be able to drive mom nuts!!
